Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a Modern Apprentice I complete different tasks everyday. I sell holidays on shop floor and also complete my apprentice work every week where I am allocated one day a week to complete as much work as possible.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have enjoyed my programme since the day I started. Everything that I am handed is so interesting to complete as I learn different things every time I complete a new piece of work which is why I enjoy the programme so much.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I learn something new everyday when working in a travel agent. As we have so many different customers walking in and out of our shop, I have adapted to different ways of how to sell a holiday. Also learning about different destinations in the world.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is very well organised. I have catch up calls with my assessor scheduled every 6 weeks to review my progress where I am handed more work to complete. We also have face to face catch up with the other apprentices every few months.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have received a lot of support from TUI since starting in my role. We are cared for by the company and have so many different sources available to us if we are ever in need of support. We have mental health sources, financial sources etc. They also care a lot about our well-being. We recently got authorised to have one hour where we can take before we start work or to finish work earlier to take care of our well-being. This is going for a walk, going to the gym or doing something that cares for our well-being.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive so so much support from my assessor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]. Every time she marks a piece of my work she always finds ways for me to improve my work so that I can get the best qualification out of my apprenticeship and gives me the feedback that I require to improve my work. She always offers support when needed and I know that if I ever need support I can always go to her.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that my qualification helps me perform better in my role as I learn things about the role which I wouldn't be able to learn in the role itself. There has been numerous times where I have provided a colleague with information that I learnt from my training provider. My colleague has then questioned how I have the information where I then advise that I learnt it from my apprenticeship.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Every so often we have a team mingle. In the team mingle we reflect as a shop on our figures that we have put through. In the mingle we have an allowance from Tui for food, sweet treats, drinks, snacks etc. The team mingle's bring the team together where we can discuss what we can do to work as a team to over-achieve our results.
