Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Frequently communicating with members of the team, agreeing costs with contractors, providing insightful documentation for clients and also going on site visits to agree valuations.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I would say i enjoy my programme as it is a much better way of learning due to the fact you are learning on the job and with people who are very experienced and can therefore adopt their methods and become better at your day to day work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have further developed my ability to speak confidently about my work and explain in detail about what i have done and why. My skills on excel has also greatly improved which has enabled me to save time. I have also developed the skill to balance my time with uni and day to day work.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very organised as there are frequent calls with people at UCEM and also your line manager at arcadis to make sure everything is running smoothly.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Arcadis provide a high level of support and really lives up to their "people first" motto.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We are always given one day a week to go towards our studies and there is also additional support to complete the APC at the end of our degree. These can vary from workshops to webinars etc.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The knowledge i receive from my uni work is very beneficial as it is all associated with the day to day work we do in our 9 to 5 and as a result it can be carried over to help provide information to clients and other members of the team.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are monthly office socials that provide food and drinks aswell as sports activites that commence weekly too.
