Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I have a team of 10 to manage, within this i manage the booking of around 10 different specialties, i need to attend meetings, lead 1-1's, ensure all targets for the team are met each day, respond to emails and calls, speak to patients if we have any complaints.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have found the programme very hard, but rewarding. I have enjoyed some subjects but have found some others are not relevant to my current job role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes i have developed a great knowledge for NHS processes, i have developed better people skills and developed my basic administration knowledge.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I have found the NVQ to be very well structured and organised. My NVQ assessor is always available to help and keeps in contact regularly.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

In the beginning of the NVQ our department was very understaffed and were not able to provide much support if any, however in the last few months they have been very supportive in giving me time during work hours to complete tasks.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My NVQ assessor has been extremely supportive, she is always around when needed and explains things very clearly in our regular meetings.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel it has helped tremendously, i have learnt new techniques when managing projects, as well as ways to get the best out of my team and how to support them better.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

No there are not many, apart from social gatherings for Christmas.

The role is very rewarding, the department I work in are very flexible with home working and giving us support when we need it.
