Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My day to day role varies. On a typical day I will be allocated to the HCA in charge role, during the day I will be in charge of the dining room, making sure the patients are following their meals plans, they are complying with their meals and snacks. They are having enough fluids throughout the day. All this would be documented and spoken to with nurse in charge and the dietician.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am thoroughly enjoying my programme, as I am learning new things on a day to day basis and also I am improving myself on areas that I found I am not doing so well. This has been through training, speaking to my line manager.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed new skills i.e. how to admit new patient on the care system. Also after my training I have a better understanding of how to handle patients in a distressed atmosphere.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is structured well as I know what needs to be completed by when, this is by following the plan for the month and ticking of my relevant course materials.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
My Ward manager is really good with the support, speaking to me discussing with me what I need to do and how to make sure I am managing my time well, I believe that the nurses are not on the same page as they want me to prioritise the ward before the time I am allocated for my studies. They would want me to do that in my own time than on shift.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I am getting constant support from my training provider within couple of hours of submitting my work I am getting feedback straightaway, which is really helpful during the initial start of the training.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It has helped me a lot as I am seeing my day to day activities from a new perspective, which has helped me highlight what areas I need to work on.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I am part of two groups, I am part of the patient peer review committee and I am part of the wellbeing team as well.
