Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My work days are very dependant on the projects going on at the time. Currently my work day revolves of communicating our new Renault Clio MY24, Arkana MY24 and LCV MY23.5 releases, using tools to value our used car sale prices to make sure we are not selling them below the expecting pricing, and tracking our residual values.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
At the start of program the learning progressions was very long and intense and this period lasted a month. Two months after the initial month of learning required a lot of experience based training which allowed me to settling into the position and learn the intricacies of the position. Once settled into the role I began to enjoy my role very much and found confidence in that many of the team trusted in my ability to to complete my tasks with minimal oversight.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
During the course of my apprenticeship at Renault I have acquired new proficiencies in advanced data analysis techniques from creating and maintaining multiple dashboards which I send out monthly, a strong understanding of the car market, and presentation abilities after creating and presenting our quarterly residual value movements to Renault UK's head MD and Renault's Central Directors

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I started the programme in August which was a very quite time in the company in terms of workload. Starting in August meant I was able to learn the role without much pressure.
I was also mentored by the previous apprentice who held my role who was able to show how to complete my tasks. A lot of the learning was experience based and not just from the assigned mentor.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A mentor was assigned for the first month as well as a lowered expectation of capabilities due to the being a new employee. Many of the team were understanding that I would not be able to answer more complex queries due me being new in my role and would CC my mentor in most questions. This relieved of the many stressful factors of starting a new role and provided me enough support to learn as much as I could within my first month of the role
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider, requires me to complete a portfolio. I have 1 meeting every month to make sure I am on track to complete this portfolio which tracks learning in the workplace and as an apprentice. In my 7th month working at Renault I was very behind due to increased workload and my tutor made sure to set up extra meeting during the month to make sure I was progressing without being left behind.
All in all I am happy with the support I get from my training provider.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification requires me to learn the basics of Python, SQL, PowerBI, Ruby and many other data analyst software. While I do not use most of those languages or software in my current workplace it does provide me with a solid foundation if I were to use those services in the future.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At work we are offered many benefits: ranging from food, out of office events and traveling. From my time at Renault I have attended multiple work related events, travelled to meet with partners and gone out with colleagues for social events.
Although due to my late start I missed many introduction events into the company.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Renault to a friend?
Yes
Why?
From my time working at Renault verses working at other companies, I find that the people working at Renault are very friendly and open to teaching new starters how the company operates. During my time at Renault I have never had a negative experience with any of my colleagues ever.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Renault?
Know the basics, epically if you are required to use Excel. Knowing the fundamentals of Microsoft Office is essential. It is also important to be well spoken both in person and over email.
If you are an apprentice, intern or grad it is important to make friends with the other interns as they can provide with with insight into their department when you require support.
