Working with CEVA logistics has been a great experience for me. I have the opportunity to work on different transportation platforms, routes, and even doing some follow up. My work is gathering data that deals with my assigned transportation package. I then schedule for shipments and create a comprehensive transport plan for my work. After doing all the necessary work i submit my plant to my supervisor for any corrections.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme a lot. I have met some important friends, worked with a team that i dedicated to their work. I have also got the orportunity to work on different projects, get to learn new routes and pushing daily to be the learn as much as I can.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have learned new skills and improved upon those I already possessed. I have learned the required analysis techniques that are essential in a logistics company. i have also improved on my communications skills. This has improved my generals self confidence. I work with a team and i have gained valuable teamwork skills that are required in a logistics company. Generally. the experience has made me a better person not only in my career but also as a person.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is well organised. In a typical week, we are provided with classes to learn the theoretical work as a transport planner. We are then given the opportunity to apply our learning in workshops and eventually get to work on a real job. The experience has been of great help it gives you the required skills to succeed in your work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer gives me a lot of sunspot. They have ensured that I get access to the latest trends, routes and even software that are required for my work. They have skillful employees which gives me the ability to learn from the best and be the best too. My employer has organised regular assessment to ensure that i am making progress. The support has been immense and I am thankful for it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider has really been of a great help to me. They have given me the ability to learn the theoritical part of my work. I have also been given the chance to be taken through a well formulated programme that is beneficial for my career. My training provider seem to know my challenges and they have been guiding me through my ups and downs.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification through my training providers has been very crucial for my success. They have given me the basic knowledge that is required in a logistics company. I have the opportunity to work under a well covered programme and this has given me skills to be a better transport planner.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, Football has been one of the popular sport in my company, we are always encouraged to form teams from different departments and get to play against each other. There are other sports like basketball, volleyball and baseball. We are also provided with professional events that are of benefit for our skills.

CEVA logistics is an international company. This means you are given an opportunity to learn in one of the best companies in the world. They have the best resources to learn, the best employees and an excellent apprenticeship programmes. CEVA logistics has been in a front foot in improving their services and protecting the environment. Who wouldn't want a clean and safe environment?
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CEVA Logistics?
The company is a global orgernisation and this means their programmes is very competitive. This requires you detail you application to the specific programme you are applying for. Show that you really deserve a spot by doing an extra research about the company. Make sure you prepare well for the interview if you get a chance and don't be afraid to ask questions for clarity.
