My role is to help bring new business into the company. In this early stage of my career it is really about shadowing and supporting the more senior BDM's to learn from them.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme is whatever I want it to be. If I choose that I want to focus on one part of the job I am given freedom to do so. I was paired with a buddy at the beginning of my time here and he has my personal development high on his agenda which is really helpful.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I'm only the 2nd in my type of position at the company. When I started there was a great deal of structure for onboarding and i was given a 13 week structure to stick to but since then there has been a lack of structure and therefore clear direction.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The support network at CEVA is great. there are regular apprentice days where they teach us new skills and things about ourselves that can help at work. My boss and manager have a monthly meeting with me to ensure we're all aligned but i also know i am able to drop in whenever i want help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I was given the option of having fridays blocked out to focus on my degree but i get the work done in spare time throughout the workday. My weekly meeting with my buddy helps ensure i stay on track.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The lecturers are all very experienced in the corporate world so listening to them talk about situations they've been through is really interesting. The contents of the modules also helps as it all focuses on things relevant to my job like marketing and team work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are groups of people from the company that play sports together outside of work. We have Christmas and summer parties for those of us that work in head office and often hold team meetings where there's an element of team building involved.

Why?
The support I've had since I've started has been unbelievable and I feel very lucky to work here. There are lots of good people who work here and there is a culture of team work and a desire to be better than our competitors which I love. There is clear progression too.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CEVA Logistics?
First Impressions are important. Be personable, engaged, and ask questions when you get the initial phone call about the role. Prepare well for the interview and be confident.
