Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
No day is the same which what I like about my role. It is considered 50% practical and 50% desk work which means that one day I could be at a factory trial and then the next day working on prototype development for packaging concepts.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really like the company I work for and I think that the way that university interacts with my role helps me develop a deeper understanding of what I am doing at work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have development plenty of technical skills and transferrable skills that I can bring to another job role. My university requirements help to push me at work to gain exposure to as many experiences as possible.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
My Programme as university is well structured. I have set blocks that are assigned for university days where I know I can focus on university.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer as I am assigned a mentor at my work who helps me with my university development. For my day to day work everyone in my team is very helpful and willing to support me in areas that I may require extra support for.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I'd say I am more reliant for support from my employer as most of my university work is based on projects at my company. I am able to receive a good level of support from my university when required.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
As someone who had no clue about packaging prior to my apprenticeship, I think that the university course has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of what the role entails. For my assignments, I am able to base them off what I am doing a work which allows me to really think about my actions and what could be missing etc.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There are not many social events at my office is probably the only downside.

Yes
Why?
I feel like I have gotten really lucky with Premier considering this is the first professional role I have gotten. I feel supported day to day and get to work on exciting projects across different categories within FMCG.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Premier Foods?
I would say not to hesitate in applying as the company if its a role that peaks initial interest. I felt that for my first role, the application process and interview stages were not as scary as I had initially thought.
