Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Benefit processing and making decisions.
I gather and analyse information and evidence on certain benefit product types, using government regulations to apply the law when making decisions on claims.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
1/5
I don't particularly enjoy the programme because most of what i'm learning isn't relevant to my job role, so it feels like a waste of my time. i also don't like how the service is provided.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
2/5
I've worked for the DWP for a number of years, so i have refreshed what skills i had already.
I have learnt a lot more about various legislations that are relevant to the workplace and dealing with customers and working with collages

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
It's not very organised. I was very confused for quite a while about what i was expected to do and how the apprenticeship operated.
There wasn't a clear explanation and the platform used is very confusing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
I am given one day a week to do the apprenticeship. No other support is given. Apprenticeships are new to our department and the team leaders are not really aware how they work, so i am unable to ask for help.
Also the team leaders are very busy.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I can ask for help from the training officer whenever i need it but because i have to provide examples from within my job role, they are often unable to help as they don't know enough about my job and i have often struggled to obtain examples.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
It has helped to refresh and reiterate knowledge i already have but i don't think it is having any significant impact on helping me perform better.
I have worked for my company for a lot of years and gained lots of experience, so I'm not learning anything new.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Yes there is a sports and social group who offer lots of events and social activities
