Producing various types of design drawings that are involved in all aspects of the Balfour Beatty Business ranging from vehicles/buildings/tools and designing/producing these to be manufactured to be used on site/construction
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I've really enjoyed the experience as it's helped sculpt me to become more responsible in my duties, allowing me to undergo projects, where daily tasks are able to be fulfilled without problems. Furthermore, the work place interactions are extremely beneficial in personal development and communication.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, helped be gain independence and confidence in the role since the first day. It's allowed me to become more competent in my role by developing new and previous skills alongside building me to be more resilient when it comes to stress and time management.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Programme structure is managed well enough, a lot of the responsibility is reliant on the apprentice which in my eyes is good as it enables time keeping to be sharp at all times. Maintaining connection with stakeholders when needed and managing the general workload effectively.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Support from the employer is there at times, however there involvement is limited due to how the external organisation running the apprenticeship deals with the apprentice and therefore can be lackluster at times however when the employer is needed, they're quite accommodating.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Training provider support has been quite poor throughout the years, although we have reviews, there hasn't been much involvement in EPA advancement when needed. Also a lack of urgency in some regards to work. Also, their lack of transparency as been worrying as i have gone through multiple assessors (5 atleast)
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

it has allowed me to build good foundational knowledge for my role, giving me incite on how the industry works and allows for me to further understand intricate areas of the industry such as manufacturing or maintenance, alongside drawing and standardisation.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are a range of events that are carried out within BB, we have R-Life which allows for people to sign up for different events that are being help, which can be done outside of work which allows for nice collaboration.

Why?
Extremely accommodating business that has a range of opportunities to follow through with huge abundance or job opportunities and projects. They help to provide as much benefit to the employees as possible and therefore is a nice environment to be in for the most part.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Balfour Beatty?
just to be an open book and be willing to learn as much as possible whilst you're here. There is such an abundance of knowledge that is available here and not utilising that would be a mistake, so I'd definitely say to just allow yourself to learn as much as possible where applicable, and be able to put yourself out there as much as possible.
