Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

In my role as a HR Advisor I work with internal teams, managers and key stakeholders to help build the organisation build it's people capability. This involves me developing and implementing effective people strategies and activities.
This includes:
- Consulting with line managers to provide HR guidance.
- Developing solutions, programs and policies on any HR issues.
- Managing and resolving employee relations issues by conducting thorough and objective investigations.
- Maintaining knowledge of legal requirements relating to employment law to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Partnering with the legal colleagues when required.
- Providing performance management guidance to line managers (e.g., coaching, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Working with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Providing HR policy guidance.
- Developing contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
- Providing guidance and input on restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do enjoy the programme and I find it rewarding. The skills, knowledge and behaviours that I've developed throughout the programme has directly linked to my job role and without this I would not be competent in my role. However, I have found the time commitment and off-the-job learning a challenge at times.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is well organised and structured. I have the flexibility to complete activities and assignments at my own pace, however my Skills Coach checks in with my regularly to ensure that I am staying out track. I have 6 week reviews with my Skills Coach and I also have more formal 12 week reviews where my progress is checked and I undergo a 'Skills Scan'.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My manager has been supportive and has also provided me with the my 20% time off to complete any learning and assignments/activities. My workplace also has an apprenticeship network, which includes a channel to communicate with other apprentices and also networking events to meet and support other apprentices which I have found helpful.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have received a lot of support from my training provider, I have a dedicated Skills Coach who I meet with virtually every 6 weeks for formal reviews. She is also available via email or video call whenever I have any queries or need any additional support. She is encouraging and helpful.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification has been integral to my performance in my job role, it has provided me with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to effectively carry out my day to day tasks and activities. The knowledge I've acquired has been vital, such as knowledge around employment legislation, organisational culture and how to effectively use data.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there are many extra-curricular activities for me to get involved in at my workplace. We have networking events, such as apprenticeship days, 'all hands' days, in person team catch-ups, social events and sports activities such as a Strava running club. We also have Teams channels where I can network with colleagues.
