Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am essentially an assistant editor so I check through content to make sure it is correct and there are no errors, I also communicate with suppliers and give feedback to authors.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I think the program is very interesting and I have gained a lot of knowledge through it. My skills coach is experienced in publishing and is good at helping when I am struggling.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned to communicate in a more effective way and have developed my knowledge about publishing, specifically educational publishing. This is my first corporate role so I am learning more and more everyday.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The program is very well structured, we have a plan to follow for the whole year and regular meetings to make sure we are staying on top of our work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My manager is very good at getting me information that I need for my apprenticeship and getting me in touch with people that are useful to speak to. I always get my apprenticeship time every week and my team are very good at making sure I have time for this.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
We have monthly group sessions where we do presentations and discuss things we have learnt. We also have monthly sessions with our skills coach so overall I feel very supported through the course. My skills coach replies very promptly when I message her outside of our meetings too.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think it has mostly given me a good enough base knowledge to know what questions to ask and what skills I need to develop on more for my role. Without my apprenticeship the time it took me to get to grips with the role would have been longer.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
There are monthly socials at the office which I always go to but I am not sure if there are any other activities.
