Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I log and report breakdowns from people on site to the suppliers. As well as process damage and loss charges from the suppliers to the projects. I also deal with any failed collections that come from the supplier and send them to the hire desks to find where they are.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my programme quite a lot. It has helped me to grow and learn as I have learnt new things, expanded on my knowledge and met new people. It has been great to learn things I didn't know before and help train others on the same things too.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
My confidence and independence have developed since starting my apprenticeship at Balfour Beatty as I have to talk to new people all the time and do things I may not have done before. I have also improved my communication skills since joining as I have joined calls with different people.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I would say my programme is organised for example; I was always able to go to my college tutor for help with any work or modules set for me. I knew I could always go to my co-workers for help any time I got stuck and/or needed any help.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received a lot of support from my employer during my apprenticeship. I was always made known I could go to them if I was struggling with something in work or at college. They were very friendly when I first joined them and made me feel welcomed into the team.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I would receive monthly calls from my tutor regarding each module that was set. During our mocks I received extra help, going through each part of the exams I would be doing and what questions I would be expecting. I could email/message at anytime for extra help or calls, however I had to wait a while sometimes to get a response to something that I may of needed a lot quicker.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I believe the training I received from my training provider helped me within my role by teaching me the different areas that I may not have been as knowledgeable on from when I joined as well I helping me understand certain things that Balfour Beatty did and why they did it.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I got involved in a careers fair recently on be half of Balfour Beatty to promote the company and spread the awareness of Apprenticeships to everyone. We also have the opportunity to take part of a Tough Mudder event in June with the office I am based in with my co workers.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Balfour Beatty to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend working at Balfour Beatty to a friend as everyone is always so nice and it is a great company to work with. They are always there to help you or just be a listening ear if there are any problems. If you are having any issues in work then you can always talk to your manager and discuss this with them and find a solution.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Balfour Beatty?
If someone is wanting to apply to Balfour Beatty, I would advise them to research the company and gather a basic knowledge of the company before having an interview or applying so that they know where they may be going and what they would be doing. I would also tell them to be yourself when meeting your possible future employer.
