Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Day to day role consists of interacting with customers to define project requirements, developing and testing automations, documenting the full project lifecycle, obtaining project sign-offs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

As with every job, there are some tasks that are not as enjoyable as others, that being said, I generally really enjoy the work I do, and the degree has been very interesting, giving me a broad base of knowledge across a number of areas.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, absolutely. Before the apprenticeship I had very limited experience with programming, whereas now I program automations as part of my day-to-day. The same applies for testing, which before the apprenticeship I had never really done. Building up customer facing experience has also helped me build confidence and improve myself.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme was structured very well, in which the years build in challenge as the apprenticeship progresses. I found the first year fairly easy, however the 3rd and 4th years provided some interesting challenges which really pushed me to stay engaged and continue my progression.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Fujitsu, and more so my team specifically, have been absolutely fantastic with the support provided throughout the apprenticeship. I cannot fault the RPA Team at all, and thoroughly enjoy the work I do, and I am very grateful for the opportunities I have been provided.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

MMU have been great with the levels of support provided; the lecturers I've had have all been very keen for us to do well, and across the board have always been willing to provide help when it is asked for.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Whilst the degree has definitely been interesting, and provides me with some useful business and programming skills, some of the units were not particularly relevant to me in my current role. Whilst not relevant to the work I do, they were very interesting all the same.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are occasional socials/networking events, however since COVID, a lot of employees work from home, and so the social side can be a little bit lacking. That being said, we are encouraging apprentices and graduates to come in once a month for a big office social event.

Would you recommend Fujitsu to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have had very good experience with Fujitsu during my apprenticeship, and honestly feel that they provide a fantastic area for growth and development.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fujitsu?
Fujitsu is a large company with a huge variety of opportunities; do not be afraid to change your mind about what you apply for. I changed roles a year and a half into the apprenticeship, and it was the best move I have ever made.
