Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Investigating potentially fraudulent Universal Credit claims with the goal of suspending and closing these claims, and recovering government money that has been incorrectly paid out. Carry out phone interviews with claimants, then asking them to provide evidence to verify what they have told us and to verify their claim.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The programme is going well so far and I have covered some interesting topics. My mentor is very nice and approachable, as well as being clear and thorough.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Interviewing techniques
Analytical skills
Investigation skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The organisation as been good so far. All of my sessions are clearly put into my diary in advance, and at each session my mentor will clarify when the next session is with me and double check that I can make it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My employer allow me 1 day per week to work on my apprenticeship. I also discuss my progress in 1-2-1s with my boss internally, as well as having progress meetings with my line manage and mentor every few months.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I have regular meetings where my mentor will offer me any support I may need and answer any questions I may have.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
So far the benefit of doing the qualification has been to make me consider other ideas and concepts when carrying out my role. It has also been good to re-cap on some areas that I had studied before, but needed a refresher on them.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
We have quarterly well-being events with the wider team. I also attend conferences from time to time.
