Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The J.P. Morgan Early Insight into Technology was an opportunity to virtually engage with the inspiring people, participate online in skills building and interactive sessions and learn about their businesses.
A comprehensive plan for each day was provided, along with extra material to review before the event. There were coding challenges provided throughout the days, and their was a mixture of workshops, talks and practical exercise to provide for a great experience despite of the pandemic meaning that the week was held virtually.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
There was thorough understanding discussed and available about the business and potential roles. Throughout the week, there were numerous sessions where the recruitment process was discussed with the actual hiring team, and live Q and A sessions held. We were given an overview of all of the potential roles and team that we could possibly work at JP Morgan, an in-depth overviews were given. I found this beneficial as I found about new roles at the Bank.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I developed my understanding of the financial and technology industry, the J.P. Morgan Technology event had senior professional's discuss their roles and career progression and the personal and professional skills required for these roles. I understand that JP Morgan, is an inclusive and connected place of work. The workshops were held by the professionals at JP Morgan, and included an overview of the topic, and practical exercises. I felt as though I have developed myself through the event.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
JP Morgan, are a company that pays close attention to the company culture and general atmosphere. During the week, they discussed the various company initiatives available at the Bank, one of which is the Code For Good initiative. The Code For Good Initiative, brings together different groups of individuals to collaborate on a new technology to help non-profit organisations. I believe that this is a attractive point of the Bank, as customers and employee's become more conscious about their decisions.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed the event as it provided an opportunity to engage with the staff at JP Morgan, and increase my network. I also enjoyed the online skills building, as I increased my knowledge and soft-skills which are important in industry. The Forage Coding Exercises, were challenging however they provided enjoyment once complete and provided an insight into the sort of work that we would complete if we were to get a internship at the Bank.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to J.P. Morgan
The selection process for the J.P Morgan Early Insight into Technology, involved an application and CV overview. Despite, not having the other stages such as interview's, assessment centres and psychometric tests, I believe that it is very important to have a great CV to stand out from the rest of the applicants. Applying early also helps, and reading articles and posts can increase your understanding of the type of CV that the job requires.
