Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
When we arrived we were first given a speech by the Graduate Recruitment Partner which outlined the firm's Training Contract Programme. This was followed by a speech by the firm's UK Senior Partner who gave a brief overview of the firm. Members from the Graduate Recruitment team then gave some tips and tricks on what makes a good applicant. All of these talks were followed by a Q&A. After lunch there was a group presentation task.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Although the talks only gave a brief overview of each department/sector it was really interesting to get a flavour of what happens at the firm. The fact that it was in person also gave a genuine insight into the culture at the firm which was super useful.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
The talk by Graduate Recruitment was really helpful as this can a unique insight into what exactly they were looking for in a candidate as well as outlining the application process. The team presentation was also really helpful as I had never done anything like that before and is probably a similar task to what you may be asked to participate in during an assessment centre.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture felt really friendly and inclusive. During the speech by the Senior Partner it was reassuring to hear that the firm was non-hierarchical and inclusive of all employees.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I couldn't speak highly enough of this experience. Due to Covid-19 a lot of events have been online this year so it was really unique to go to the offices and actually be in person. The day was structured perfectly and the task to conclude was hands on and involved teamwork, giving a flavour of what life as a lawyer may entail.
