Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role oversees the apprenticeship programmes within the head office function. I work with the training providers and business leads to enrol colleagues on apprenticeships and support them for the duration of the scheme. I also support careers and apprenticeship fairs and manage an internal coach who delivers management and admin apprenticeships
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am really enjoying the programme, I am learning new skills and I am able to find opportunities at work to be able to put what I am learning into practice. It is giving me the opportunity to learn skills that I would not necessarily learn in my current role

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt new skills around marketing and how to plan marketing campaigns to ensure that the needs are met. I am currently learning skills around finance and looking at profit and loss statements and working out how to manage financial reports. I have also development my skills on wellbeing and a better understanding of how our organisation can support colleagues.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My course is well structured, we study 2 modules a semester and have 2 assignments per module. I know the topics in advanced and have access to the information on the learning platform to be able to review the material before and after the sessions. We also have plenty of time to complete the assignments.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have a lot of support from my employer, I have my off the job time every week and I have had support in identifying learning opportunities and other areas of the business are helping where there may be a difficulty in putting into practice what I am learning or if I need advice on a topic.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have regular calls with my learning advisor where we review my progress. I attend lectures every other week and the lecturers respond quickly to any questions or concerns. They are really supportive during the sessions and ensure that we are understanding the subject matter and also allow us time to reflect on what we have learnt.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that I am developing as a more rounded manager, prior to the programme I focussed on the management of people but this qualification is allowing me to experience different management opportunities such as project management and marketing management, I feel this will allow me to be more involved in activities outside my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I take part in networking events that are run within our business and I also take part in careers events and social mobility events within head office. Apprentices are encouraged to be involved in extra curricular activities and we have a channel where we can network and support each other and to support new colleagues to the business.
