Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My day to day role includes, answering telephone calls from customers and taking their enquiries and orders, serving customers over the front counter whether they are collecting parts or wanting to order in person, and also dealing with the technicians from our workshop next door, getting the parts that they require from the shelf or ordered for them.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the programme I am on quite a lot due to the nature of the job. My favourite tasks at work come through the challenges that we experience on a day to day basis. For example, customers coming in with unorthodox and hard to identify parts that need to be replaced.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Throughout my short time in the role so far, I have gained many new skills. I have gained customer service skills through answering customer calls and enquirys both over the phone and over the counter. This has also helped me develop my self confidence due to talking to and engaging with new people

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme is well structured due to the professional nature of both my training provider and the company employing me . Although I haven't been to the training centre yet due to having only just really starting my apprenticeship, they organise food and accomodation for those attending due to it being necessary to have multiple days there at a time
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive support from my employer through the colleagues that I have working around me day in day out. The more experienced team around me helps me to know what is right with pricing and parts etc. The workshop staff are also accommodating and patient as they know I won't have the same level of experience in the role as my colleagues
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
My training provider, Remit, offers some support when working towards my qualifications. For example, every apprentice is assigned a development coach, that they will have only meetings with every so often in order to gauge a sense of progress with the apprentice. There is also monthly tasks set which apprentices work towards which are then uploaded to be marked and sent back
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Through Remit, I learn things that I wouldn't otherwise learn in my job role, for example I have learnt more about the supply chain side of things so far through my courses, which helps me to understand the cost and production involved in producing the parts that we sell on a day to day basis
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Motus often offer extra activities that differ from the day to day role of regular work. To give a few examples that I have experienced, we often have day in the life competitions, which involve creating short videos depicting what the day to day life of a Motus colleague is like. There is also 'dress down' days in which employees can come out of uniform for a small contribution to charity

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend MOTUS Commercials to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The company values are of a high standard, with employees being treated well and respected. There are also many benefits provided by the company, such as a points rewards scheme for certain incentives and parts sales, which can then be converted into prizes, monetary bonuses for hitting targets on hitting branch targets, and pension and healthcare schemes
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to MOTUS Commercials?
When applying, be as honest and interesting as possible, don't pretend that you are someone you're not. keep the same mentality when in the interview, and be as open and honest as possible about your goals and aspirations with where you want to be in however many years time, as this shows your drive and will to work towards your goals
