Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My job involves carrying out maintenance within a workshop environment on HGV vehicles. This includes inspecting, repairing and cleaning vehicles to customer standards and making sure they are in the correct condition to be out on the road. I am learning every day and always improving my skills.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am enjoying every day that I am here as there is never a dull day and I am always learning which makes it a lot more interesting. I get on well with my colleagues as well which makes it a more enjoyable environment.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Before starting this apprenticeship I had very little prior knowledge on vehicle maintenance and tools. Since starting this job I have learnt how to inspect HGV vehicles to mot standards and repair many kinds of defects that may be found.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well organised, I am always kept up to date with my college block dates and any other events going on within the job. The team around me makes each day as efficient as possible to ensure I am never confused or stressed.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer supports me every day and checks in on my wellbeing. If there is anything I am worried about he is always there to talk about things and put them right if needs be.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider ensures me that I can contact them whenever necessary to ask questions about the job. They set the correct training for me to complete the tasks I am set.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

With my qualification I can access more roles within the job and work my way up the positions if I put in the work. It also teaches me the right protocols within the job and helps me to stay secure within my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I can take my class 1 HGV licence which will also help me in my role.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to MOTUS Commercials?
I would tell them to try their hardest every day and if they are unsure about something just ask. They should also take in as much as possible.
