Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am an apprentice electrician so my job involves learning the trade on site by assisting the supervisor by working on a variety of jobs that help me build up experience in all aspects of being an electrician. An example of this would be a office install or changing lights
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
So far I have really enjoyed my time here. I have enjoyed the variety of jobs that we have completed and have learnt a lot over the past year and a half l. It is a great place to work as everyone is very nice and easy talk to and get help from.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many new skills while being on this apprenticeship like being able to understand all of the terminology for on site and picking up skills to complete certain jobs like changing and repairing lights and installing new socket outlets in offices and installing data points where is needed.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My apprenticeship is structured very well I do 10 weeks at college every year and they are broken up into one week slots which is very good because there is a lot to learn. This is also good because I get the rest of time at work to learn the job on site
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive lots of support from my employer which is very good because it makes it easier to learn the trade on site and then I get a lot of support on the college side which makes the apprenticeship a lot more enjoyable and easier to understand the theory side of the job.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a lot of help through the college. I have a very good tutor who makes everything very easy to understand and this has helped me pass all of my exams so far. The college is also very good at structuring the apprenticeship to make sure I get the best training possible.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification helps me perform a lot better in my work this is because the theory side plays a big part in the on site part of the job because you have to understand how to do certain aspects of the job before putting it into practice and the qualification through the provider helps do this
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are extra curricular activities in and out of work like social lunch events in and outside of work and leavers events in and outside of work which is very good because you get to meet new people and try new things whilst being around people you work with.
