Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

4/5
I'm doing a level 5 AI Leader apprenticeship though Cambridge Spark. This involves doing modules (approximately 8 hours each week), workshops every 6 weeks, group tasks before and after workshops, portfolio development and a project report.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

4/5
I really enjoy all aspects except for the group work and the workshops. My cohort agrees that these aspects don't involve much learning and feel like busy work. We have an 18 month apprenticeship crammed into 12 months and so any superfluous work is a lot to ask.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

4/5
We've learned lots of leadership frameworks.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

4/5
It's fairly structured, with a staggered release of modules so everyone stays on the same page.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
A lot--so long as I get everything done I have a lot of flexibility to propose and develop new ways of working or new projects.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
A lot--I have been given all the time and support I need to do the apprenticeship to the best of my ability.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

4/5
It certainly helps on the leadership side, which I have very little formal background in. It's a good complement to my pursuit of the technical side of AI workflows.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
I have founded the Oxford AI Build Club, where people across the University come to share things they're building with AI.
