Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I attended meetings hosted by a range of employees at the Bank of England. They discussed the application process for degree apprenticeships, the experiences which current and former degree apprentices had had and some of the wider benefits of being employed at the Bank of England.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was very useful to learn more about the potential roles available and has helped me to gain a better understanding of what undertaking a degree apprenticeship with the BoE would involve. It was both interesting and insightful to hear from employees and apprentices about the working environment of the BoE. The experience provided my with a level of information that I would have been unable to find anywhere else.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have gained greater knowledge about the application process for the degree apprenticeship and I hope that this will aid me to become a successful applicant when I apply later this year. I have been further inspired to apply for a degree apprenticeship and the experience has confirmed my desire to work for the bank.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
From what I could infer as a virtual attendee over a few hours that company culture and general atmosphere seemed to be really friendly and inclusive. The BoE seems like a very nice environment to work in.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the insight day, I gained so much information from the day and was able to see what the working environment in the company was like. Without this insight I would have been less informed about whether I would seriously fit in to the BoE and enjoy working there.
