Technology Spring Intern Review

There were daily talks from engineers and executives about the company's various lines of business, several technology related workshops (Cyber Security, UX design, Agile), and many opportunities to network with current employees, such as SEPs working in different departments, VPs, MDs etc., and hear their experiences and journeys.
Alongside this, there were some coding challenges in Python and Java to be completed by the end of the week, with resources and help always available, a short DSA test and an engaging general knowledge quiz. Short videos of our review of each task were required as well. On top of this, there was an optional cyber security tournament taking place throughout the event.

It was pretty amazing to hear in detail what different lines of business do and how to get involved in each of them. I loved the flexibility of potentially moving from one line of business to another and being taught everything from scratch, the development sessions available in all kinds of topics and all the support provided by the company. There were very clear advice and tips given on how to maximise the opportunities within the event to get to know different areas better, and so many people were kind enough as to be open to answering more questions even after the event was over.

I have definitely improved my Python and Java skills as I got to brush up on them throughout the coding challenges. I have learned how different lines of business work and how they operate and serve clients, as well as what skills are needed in order to succeed in areas such as UX design, cyber security etc.
I have met so many nice people and learned from their journeys in the company, and thankfully I got to stay connected with most of them. Some great insight into what the recruitment process is and how to best prepare a resume and application was provided too, which was more than helpful.

The environment was very welcoming and open to any questions at all times. I never felt like there was something I maybe shouldn't ask or that people might look at me weird. The support was great and there was always someone to go to in case of anything.
The company culture overall was very professional, yet down to Earth. I learned more about their values, commitment to excellent client services and how they give back to the community through their work with charities, yet they were very aware that not everyone has the same set of skills and that there may be gaps here and there. I love how open and understanding they are to that, and the support they provide to ensure inclusiveness.

I absolutely loved the insight. It was so well thought out and planned, covering so many aspects of their company in such an engaging and open manner. There's nothing I can complain about. I always had help when I encountered difficulties with the coding challenges or any clarification I needed, there was always someone there.
In terms of the presentations and talks hosted, it was spot on. There was a lot of coverage on the topics presented in so little time and there were many things I took away from it. The people were amazing too. The workload was just the right amount, very engaging as well.
I had had high expectations for the event after hearing so much about the company, and it definitely met them. I will undoubtedly apply for further positions here as I would love to be able to return.
