Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a software developer, I've been involved with a wide range of activities from programming to data analyst in some capacity. Often I'm learning as there's so much to learn so I'll do online courses. I've also become a Junior Talent Ambassador which means I help the cohort develop and bring in new joiners.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
It's quite enjoyable. Fujitsu tried to provide the most flexible work experience as much as possible so it allows me to take on the most amount of work without burning myself out as much as possible. I often take advantage of my University to go to the societies as well.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I've learnt SQL as well as learning to use PowerBI and Azure and AWS. Through my education provider I've also learnt about business systems as well as how to write a website. I've started to develop Java skills as well gain some certifications that may become more useful later.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Depending on the department you can get a mixed experience. But there are standardised procedures and every year we aim to improve the experience as much as possible. The education provider is great as well and removed a lot of the uncertainty. We're also part of Junior Talent for the first 2 years which help integrate us into the program.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A lot, we get monthly catch ups from many different departments, we also are given regular courses and information about how best to receive support. There's also finance and health benefits given a lot. This allows us to feel supported and not isolated at all. We also have buddies/mentors.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
A lot, we're encouraged to prioritise our uni education more. This might mean going into university and also we're very encouraged to ask for help. They're also very open with the meetings with skills coaches with my uni. Everyone here finds it really great and are enjoying it!
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
A lot as they provide skills I would otherwise not know, as well as providing me information and a rest from work. They also ensure I don't work too much and do their best to help us through any issues that we are struggling with. Highly Recommend the MMU!
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes we have onsite some leisure facilities such as table tennis, a gym, even a bee hive which we can help out with. There's often work related socials after work as well which can be highly enjoyable as a lot of us work from home so rarely see each other,

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Fujitsu to a friend?
Yes
Why?
We get to join a great work environment, as well as meet great people. They're apprentice program ensures you're well supported whatever you are doing and you can learn so much their. Fujitsu also gives so much support to get you started and makes you feel so welcome.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fujitsu?
Go for it! Don't be frightened of the assessors as they want the best for you too. Fujitsu really cares about the personality so even if you have little experience, they'll still take you in and provide the best they can for you. I think it'd a definite opportunity to apply for.
