Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
On a Software Engineering path but my role is a Sales and marketing analyst. This is a global role to interact with CALs, TSLs and leads within the project to pitch the pain point areas within the account which client could help to solve. This has resulted in me learning about the sales process along with the skills to produce material, deliver and influence the benefits the client can bring from reaching out with emails and discussions on calls. This also includes organising awareness sessions and increasing the number of certifications.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The project that I work on is a great team which I have great support from. The company culture is supportive, inclusive and interesting as there is many things to get involved in. I do enjoy my work but this is not directly aligned with my degree or future goals.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes - sales process, marketing, leadership roles, public speaking and presenting, project management, monday.com, event driven architecture

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The induction provided me with the information I needed to get onto a project, how to fill out timesheets and I received an induction to Java programming. Studying is supportive to ensure I can complete my uni work but I didn't realise how the study days fully worked, I have weekly calls with my apprenticeship buddy and monthly calls with my career councilor and mentor. I personally believe that if I am required to complete a software engineering degree then my project should align to my course and modules.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Mentoring and support from my career councilor and buddy is great. Support from my line manager to help with any questions I have or difficulties I face is great. Is difficult to have and find time to complete training, either linking to the project or general training.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I have a regular touch points with my University coach for updates, supports and discussion on my progress so feel supportive with that to help with my qualification. Found some lecturers provide more support and feedback than others
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
My degree doesn't directly link into my role so I haven't learnt a large amount from the degree for my role. I have learnt ways of how I can improve my role or thinking outside the box of how it could be incorporated but nothing I have learnt could be incorporated or practiced in my role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Due to Covid, this put a large delay on many events but I have been able to attend more company events over the last 6 months which I have enjoyed. In person volunteering has also begun to open up for our charity days so I am hoping I can get more involved with these. It can be difficult to get involved with other extra-curricular activities when balancing work, side of desk activities and university work but there are things to get involved with.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
Yes
Why?
There are a large amount of opportunities to try out and is good if you don't want a permanent role to try out a few or not sure on what career path to pursue. There are opportunities to meet new people, explore passions through technology, travel and are limitless things to get involved in or start
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
Express your interest and enthusiasm for technology even if its not about a particular one, show you will get stuck in and not afraid to get involved, able to pick up something new and balance workloads, show eagerness to constantly learn and improve
