Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I'm a full time member of staff and am doing a staff apprenticeship. The apprenticeship is around Learning and Development which is a key part of my full time job role. I work on recruitment, support of apprenticeships, liaising with external partners and learning providers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme has been enjoyable, allowing time and space from the day job to think about my approach to my work and develop new strategies. It's all been on line so that's been difficult at times and there's not been much interaction with other cohort members.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have consolidated my theory knowledge of training development, design and delivery, and I have learnt about the key role that training plays in business strategy and change management - the practical side of this and the models and theories underpinning these elements.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme delivery for the first part is a series of 8 week learning chunks with an assignment at the end. Most of the on line learning has been useful for the assignments and supplemented by 2 online lectures per module. The online portal is easy to use and content engaging.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My Scheme Manager has been very supportive and line manager involved in the conversations. At times it's been difficult to free up the 20% off the job because of work demands.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My learning coach has been very supportive, especially now with information about the End Point Assessment and planning my time and project. We have had regular meetings throughout and I've had useful feedback both from them and written feedback on each assignment from the markers.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I've had chance to step back and think about how training is delivered, evaluated and the process of consulting to design training and this has been very helpful in my job role. I hope to be able to share some of this learning with colleagues.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There haven't been any extra curricular activities to get involved in associated with doing a staff apprenticeship and perhaps that's something for the future. (covid hasn't helped) I am a member of a whatsapp group with the wider cohort of apprentices.

It's a fantastic and very varied place to work. You can move around the organisation and gain different experiences and everyone is very passionate about their role and eager to share their knowledge.
