Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
making things for the lab or working in the lab on projects
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
the time at work i greatly enjoy, collage time is often a real pain, with time crunches that are not our fault

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
various machining techniques as well as clean room etiquette

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
again at the actual work, it is structured and i know what i have to do, the collage however often flip flops on what is required
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
they have had my back every step of the way when dealing with collage
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
some trainers deliver allot of support, offers seem to only want the bare minimum and dont often push
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I don't feel i have learned a great deal from my training experience, aside from time management which was more a by-product of the complete lack of organisation and then the students having to pick up the slack
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
yes there are, we have a seminar every Friday where people are invited to talk about there field and interesting things going on

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend University of Oxford to a friend?
Yes
Why?
the people are great and supportive, if there's an issue people are always happy to help without making you feel stupid, the work environment itself is also well kept and i feel safe working here
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to University of Oxford?
have something interesting to take to your interview, it makes it memorable and also shows your skills, for example taking in something you have made
