Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

When not on the bench (looking for a job within accenture) I follow tickets given to me via planned work. Normally have a few meetings a day and get on with whatever work I have planned. Most recently this has been working on jenkins software trying to figure out how to build and run jobs as will support tasks for the team
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have not enjoyed my time at accenture or as an apprentice. Promises made during requirement where either not kept make to look a lot better then they are. The point of an apprenticeship vs University is more hands on learning and practical experience. But more often then not I have found I expected to cram and learn things as fast as possible and properly learn skills

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Not really, teaching has not been in depth enough on the training provider side, after just giving enough info to pass exams/assessments. Accenture side people are often far too busy to actually teach or walk you through work. Meaning you pick up some skills but never enough to fully learn and understand what you are doing. Rather than coming away from the apprenticeship with 3 years of skill experience I have pick up just enough to do my day to day work and have not developed any really skills

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Poor. There is little to no communication between accenture and UEL often, part of the reason the course is so poor is that they have tried to cram a degree into 1 day per week and the quality has suffered for it. Within in acceture this is limited communication about the apprentices and scheme. I have repeatedly join roles where they are unaware of apprentices and do not expect you to take time off for studies.
An example of this is once I joined in my first year as soon as the early training finished the recruitment team told us not to contact them with any issues. All development and learning is expect to be done off your own time

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Depends on pure luck of the draw on your line manager. And as you change projects relatively frequently it can really affect performance learning, we do have PeopleLeads which we keep regular contact with and they can help. But day to day there can be very little if your manager isn't interested. Which is often the case as most people at accenture are over worked.
I am also dyslexic (if you can't already tell) and support from accenture on that front has been nonexistent. Reaching out to HR for support I was sent a link to circle group for dyslexics that was pretty much inactive.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Limited, when complaints have been made in the past we find ourselves bouncing between lectures and accenture. Being told be each to contact the other. Most lectures are more interested in the full time students, and often not take apprentices into account forgetting we busy for the rest of the week when we are not at uni.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

that is completely unnecessary and do not relate or support my day to work at all. The syllabus didn't match up with any work i have done at accenture defeating the point of an apprenticeship. I may as well have got a full time job and done a degree part time. The quality of the degree is also poor and is not up to standard, making it feel not worth while

Yes as far as I am aware, however I have never taken part in any as with work and study there is little time after work to take part.

Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
No
Why?
Over promising and under delivering. there is little to no structure to the apprenticeship, leaving new joiners with pretty much support once within accenture. Very little choice in roles, can join the express interest in doing tech and programing (which you are repeatedly told you don't need experience for) and you will be told to take business analyst roles as they are easier to get. finding that most more technical roles aren't interested in taking apprentices on. If you want to business analyst and PMO work the apprenticeship is better suited for you however you still have to put up with university side which eats up time and force you to work and study topics barely related to your day to day work
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
Don't bother. There better options out there that will give you far better chances to learn and developed skills. Best advice I can give when looking for apprenticeships is to do your research and if you can visit the training provided, as this was never given to us during requirement , I feel like this would having given me a better idea of the apprenticeship. Reach out to current apprentices if you can and ask them to be honest. this will give you a much better idea of the job and what is expected
