Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is to complete tasks on site as a Civil Engineer. This includes, setting out, inspections, as-builts, surveying etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I've really enjoyed my experience on my placement and have loved facing different challenges.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have managed to develop a lot of skills from previous experience including using equipment like the Leica GPS and a Digi Level. New skills include setting up and use of a total station and pratctical site skills (e.g. setting out for kerbs and paving).

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My on site experience has been very well organised but the placement group project work could have been run a little smoother.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
There is plenty of support from different levels within the company and everyone was very helpful when I needed it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Plenty of check-in emails and a 'site visit' but maybe not enough personal contact.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My degree is more focused on design and consultancy however it has still helped me understand drawings and designs whilst on my site placement.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Plenty of opportunities to socialise but not many sports activities etc.
