Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work within the HR function to deliver high quality apprenticeships within the business. I manage our induction paperwork and support our coaches. Recently I supported the team in putting on our first apprenticeship awards ceremony and organised the event agenda and the project running of this ceremony. I also process the invoices for our team and liaise with these providers. I also manage our shared mailbox and respond to any queries coming in through there.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have learnt new things throughout my programme and have been well supported by my manager. Studying business administration has been a really interesting opportunity and allowing me to develop new skills and develop old skills to support my career development. The exams of the course have been a little struggle, due to the way their written.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Since being in this role my confidence has grown. I have developed my communication skills, especially in the last year with organising an awards ceremony, I have communicated with new people across the business, including up to board level. I have also developed and continue to work on my time management skills to fit with the changing day-to-day work.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Due to furlough my programme was quite disrupted and it was quite hard to readjust coming back into my role following my return to work. I am very fortunate to be well supported my manager and my team and they support my apprenticeship study and training. Within my team we try to schedule a day a week for study and if this is missed it is rescheduled so I can complete my assessments for the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have regular catch-ups with my manager to discuss my workload and my apprenticeship. If I am struggling with certain tasks she supports me or directs me back to my coach with questions to support my understanding. I am also supported by other people within my team who ask how my apprenticeship is going and support my observations and tasks for my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider is TUI so as mentioned previously I am well supported within my team and from the business and have been able to secure time to work on my apprenticeship work and develop new and existing skills. Any issues I can bring these to my manager and/or team where appropriate.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
As mentioned previously I feel that I have developed my skills. My communication with stakeholders has improved and I have a clearer understanding of the structure within the business and how my team fit into this and how I fit in this within my team. I have also a clearer understanding on technology, GDPR and personal development,
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
This has reduced significantly since the pandemic, however before this we had social clubs which met in person, this has now switched to virtual. There is a book club, a theatre club, tv club. We ran a TUI choir which performed in the local area as well as at our town halls.
