Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a Product Strategy Manager I am responsible for the 3/5/10 year plans for our TUI Suneo and Splashworld. This is a really exciting role whereby I am able to help shape the future strategy of some of our core signature hotel brands. In addition, I am also involved heavily with different projects that optimise and improve processes and performance of product specific task.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the program. As I am in the final year of my apprenticeship it’s really good to see what is being done by TUI and the University to recognise our achievements and I am really proud to say that I am on the Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have continued to develop my transferable skills with my team making good use of my strongest skills. I would say that I have developed my management skills and how to be a good leader! Over the four years I have really grown in confidence and my ability to deal with responsibilities and accountabilities

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
This is probably the weakest area of the apprenticeship. There seems very little communication between the university and TUI. Often schedules are only communicated the weekend before our block learning week and sometimes visibility of future career opportunities would be really useful. However, never had any problems on the scheme
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have receive lots of support from our employer, we have an apprenticeship manager who is a really good support when it comes to the program. My line manager is also really supportive too, always asking what they can do to help complete my apprenticeship to the best standard possible.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I get a fair amount of support from the university. We have a tutor who we deal with often, we also have CASE which can help us with anything academic and are really good in replying quickly. And the lectures are always approachable and happy to set up calls for further help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
This role is imperative to my ambitions in being a future leader. The apprenticeship has given me the opportunity to apply my learnings to real life situations. I also find that by rotating round the business this allowed me to understand better of what I wanted to do in future.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
This is another area that is somewhat weak. As we have just been through covid we have had a huge restructure. Unfortunately lots of teams have changed and been absorbed into the group. It feels like colleague engagement has been somewhat forgotten and very limited opportunities to socialise with my global team.
