Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
The week was focused around three tasks: an individual exercise, a group project and a trainee task. Additionally, we had numerous opportunities to network with the Taylor Wessing team and learn about the firm's operations, most prevalently through dedicated 'Spotlight' talks on each of TW's practice areas.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Due to the virtual nature and duration of the scheme, opportunities for responsibility and client-facing work were limited. However, we did get to observe a session at the pro bono clinic and could also tailor the experience to our own interests, by setting up coffee catch-ups with relevant members of the team. Additionally, the week's three core tasks kept us busy and gave a realistic insight into life as a trainee solicitor.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Each participant on the scheme was allocated a dedicated mentor (associate-level) and buddy (trainee), to whom we could reach out with any concerns or questions.
The support provided by graduate recruitment throughout the entire process was exceptional. For example, we had short catch ups every morning of the scheme to resolve any blockers.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
In the month prior to the scheme, participants were invited to a pre-scheme social. We had a sculpting social during the scheme and arranged our own in person social the week before. In terms of D&I, we had several dedicated talks covering the firm's varied initiatives.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
The work was interesting and gave a comprehensive view of what life as a trainee would be like. The culture of the firm is open and inclusive, everyone was willing to chat and give their views on the firm. Went above and beyond my expectations!
