Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work on implementation and deployment of process improvement toolkits. This means I run workshops and offer my support to internal stakeholders across the business and report any findings back to our data dashboards. I also spend time supporting internal processes which gives me interactions with various individual across the business.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy my program. I enjoy coming into work everyday and work with some incredible people. The emerging talent team here are constantly supportive and always there to offer advice and help, checking in regularly. My education provider is also great, and I love the flexibility I have with my learning provider.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a huge variety of new skills. I have learnt how to use various sales platforms and software suites, and I am also starting to learn how to design data dashboards. I've developed my critical thinking skills as well as my presentation and communication skills - having led a number of presentations in front of senior management

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
There is a great structure to my program. The organizational structure is clear and I know who to go to if I need any help. There is support all around me from both work, and my learning provider. I weekly development meetings with my manager and quarterly meetings with my learning tutor.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer gives me huge amounts of support. The emerging talent team are always there to help, and there is a number of easy access employee support systems. My manager is understanding and supportive, and will always ensure I'm managing my workload and ask if there is any help I need.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My learning provider gives me enough support. There have been some occasions when email replies have been quite delayed - but this isn't a huge issue. On the whole I received the support I need, and I know there is plenty more accessible should I need to use it. Most of my questions are answered fully and I really enjoy the work I do academically
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel that as I move more into the work based module this will become clearer and my qualification will directly relate to my work. As I have only just started, I am learning about very broad concepts as a grounding, so as the content develops I feel it'll be more applicable to my specific roles.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are many events to get involved with. We have team events that are 'work-based' i.e team building/going out for meals and also social events organized separately to work but within our team. We have internal CSR groups that you can also get involved in. Also, once Covid abates, the emerging talent team will be organizing networking events for apprentices and grads to meet and socialize.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend DHL to a friend?
Yes
Why?

The team and business have great values, and I fully feel as though I fit in and my work is making a real different to the business. I am given real responsibility and trusted to make impacting decisions.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to DHL?
Be prepared to take responsibility for your work, you will be making a difference to so many lives - which is very rewarding! The business and the industry is making a real move towards diversity and inclusion - this is a great step.
