Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My role consists of managing a national teams diary, coordinating and setting up meetings, recording minutes and administrative tasks. I monitor 4 email inboxes. I travel to London every month to attend face to face team meetings. On a day to day basis I am emailing both internal and external stakeholders.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme because I am learning new skills and becoming more confident in my capabilities. I was previously very anxious with tasks including maths, equations, tables and percentages but now I am feeling more comfortable and less stressed when completing them. I also receive plenty of support for me to complete my programme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have definitely developed my organisational skills because I have to make sure I complete all tasks to the set deadline, manage multiple diaries and calendars whilst keeping on top of emails from multiple inboxes. I have developed a skill of writing formally and professionally which I didn't have much experience of before.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is well organised because I always have a meeting booked in the future to meet with my tutor. This includes new tasks, explaining what is expected of me and also showing me helpful resources. We use a website called BUD to upload my assignments to which is great because it shows my progress.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer. I specifically have Mondays off work to complete a 'study day'. This gives me 7 and a half hours to complete my set tasks, assignments, revision, resources and reflection. My employer offers guidance and advice with helping me get the most out of my studies.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I have support from my training provider through a microsoft teams meeting video call once every 3 weeks to discuss my progress, targets and goals and upcoming assessments. If I need any guidance or clarification on anything my provider says that I can email or phone them and they will do what they can as soon as they have chance.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think that my Level 3 qualification (In business administration) helps me to perform in my administration role because it makes me think about the employers aims and values that potentially I wouldn't have thought about in such detail before. Also teaching me things that isn't taught when you start the job for example knowledge of finances.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are many extra curricular activities that I can get involved with at my work For example, there is a book club, apprenticeship club, meditation class. I was involved in the coffee club which was where you were matched with different people in the organisation to have a half an hour video call to chat.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NHS to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Health Education England (HEE) is a very well known organisation that links to the National Health Service (NHS). It is very supportive of employees, has lots of opportunities and is based all around the UK. The company also has an option to work from home which is very reassuring if people are worried about travelling and offices in the COVID19 pandemic.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS?
Some tips and advice I would give someone who was wanting to apply for a role in Health Education England is to not be too picky on the job. There are lots and lots of opportunities offered and I recommend taking all that are offered to you for the experience, rather than just saying no.
