Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am am Data Scientist. I use complex statistical analysis, Machine Learning methodologies and Artificial Intelligence to provide our clients insights using big data. As a consultant, I also have to converse frequently with the client; gathering requirements, presenting solutions and advising them on next steps. I also do a lot of data modelling.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I love the program. The culture and staff at Accenture are fantastic. Everyone there wants to see you develop and grow, and the recruitment team made and huge effort, and a successful one, in making sure we were supported, knew the company and got to know everyone else on the scheme.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt so many new skills, ones which you do not pick up via the normal education route. Not only has my technical skills advanced exponentially, but my soft skills and ability to converse and present confidently to senior stakeholders. I am continuously learning and developing my technical and non-technical skills.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Extremely organized. We are well equipped with the skills needed to start the job, both technical and non-technical.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Loads of support. There is an amazing culture here at Accenture. Everyone genuinely wants to help and support you. We also get great support in terms of a mentor who is designated to help you progress with your career and also a buddy who is more of an informal relation
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Loads. We have frequent instructor led training programs, lots of high quality resources and Accenture financially support your the cost of your exam.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Very well. We utilise all the emerging technologies with our clients so it's essential that we are up to date with these technologies and know a good detail about them. These certifications are all relevant and I have had to use the knowledge I learnt from them in my client work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Loads. There is a society / sports team for the majority of sports out there, including snowboarding etc. There are also frequent networking events, even more so during Covid period, making it less intimidating to speak with Senior management and leadership.
