Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work in a paediatric department. I work alongside many professionals including consultant paediatricians. I support them in their clinics, making observations and taking the child’s measurements. I ensure clinic rooms are set up and make packs for families who’s children have a diagnosis of ASD
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my programme as my tutors are friendly and helpful and one of them has a great subject knowledge on my area of work. The people also on my course are helpful and we like to work together and help each other out

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes! My apprenticeship has helped me to learn new things as the research I do is on topics around my job. Doing things virtual for the first year has also helped my skills to improve and develop the ones I previously had

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I think this is hard to answer due to the structure having to change because of Covid. However I think this has been done in a great way, we are always able to get in touch with tutors through multiple ways and teaching and has been adapted good
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots! My line manager has been a great support and is always there when I need to have a chat or if a review meeting needs to be set up. The trust’s apprenticeship manager is also a great help and I know I am able to contact him.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I get a great deal of support from my tutors specially the one but a good background knowledge of my place of work. I know I can email any of them for support and they will help me the best they can
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think it helps me a lot. From doing my course I've done presentations to my wider team on things I have learnt and researched on. This has helped my confidence to grow as well as developing and widening my knowledge
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are webinars and training events
