Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My Role is to welcome people (staff, service users and external companies) into the centre. I direct people to where they need to go to and offer any help I can. I also answer the phone and transfer the calls to the right department. I book the rooms for the training course that are happening.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
My programme was good but I have a bit of trouble with my assessor as 2 have left so this has left me feeling stressed and worried about the work. So I haven't been able to enjoy it as much as my first apprenticeship. I did enjoy doing my level 2 though.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many new skills and improved the skills I have. I have improved my reception skills as a whole. So I have improved my communications skills when answering the phone. I have improved my skills when composing emails, so I use the administration skills i have learnt in the qualification

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
I am doing level 3 standard at the moment and I do think the structure is a bit difficult. I would of preferred to do a level 3 framework but they do not exist anymore. I think there is a lot to take on and a bit too much pressure on the students as there are so many deadlines to meet and so much work to take in. With the changes with my assessor I have found the support from my training provider not very good
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive the most support of my line manager, he often attends meetings with me and I know I can go to him if I am ever stuck. I do get him to proof read my work and ask him his opinion on things. This makes my experience a lot more easier as I know I have support there. I have one study day a week where I can fully concentrate on my qualification. I am always being asked how my apprenticeship is going.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The support from my training provider hasn't been the greatest. With the changes with my assessor it hasn't been easy. I am finding it hard to enjoy the qualification. I do have online lessons with a different assessor I do find the support from these lessons very good and the lessons offer so much help towards the qualification
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I do feel like the qualification does help me in my role as I am learning new things and improving my skills. I am having a bigger understanding of the business and I am learning a lot more about it. I am seeing different sides of the business so clinical and corporate. This is helping me decide on what i want to do and helping my PDP. I often do use things I have learnt
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NHS to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I feel like the NHS is a great place to work and be involved in. It is very rewarding and there are so many opportunities to improve your personal development. It gives you a in sight of how things are run and you see a complete different side to the NHS. I think the support for personal development is fantastic are there are many things you can do and many different areas to go to. You can see the corporate and clinical side
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS?
I think when applying for the NHS you should go in with a very open mind and a positive attitude. When applying make sure you are reading the job description properly and the person spec, this gives you a insight of what is expected. When coming to the interview remain calm and positive
