Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is to assist the medical nurses specialists in there day to day tasks so they can focus more on helping patients, some work I do is creating spread sheet with data given to me as well as creating audits from theses spread sheets later on to help visualizes the data making it more accessible.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
As this is my first job role I have taken i do not have a lot to compare it except for school and in this regard i have been treated more respect and treated like an adult in my job role and has helped my develop my independence more which I believe I would never get from school and this is all due to the nurses and line manger who make work amazing.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have leant many new skill while working in the office, as this is my first proper job I have leant more of how to conduct my self for example understanding how to create emails to different bands in the NHS and how to show respect in the writing of them.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The NHS was very professional in the way they introduced me to the business I was asked to come in about a month before to meet the staff as well as get and idea of where I would work. When I started I shown around again and was contacted by all members of the apprenticeship team via email who all made sure I was alright and set in.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support I receive from my employer is split into 2 parts my line manger who I had the interview with and the internal apprenticeship team.
My line manger helped me settle in on my first day and invited me to come in a month before to meet the team we also meet every Tuesday to discus my role as well as stay in contact regularly.
The internal team contacted me on my first day as well as sending me a little support package with things like pens and a memory stick as well as having a monthly team call.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My qualification provider is Nova training who had a small issue when I first arrived with was my work coach was in the prosses of leaving nova as I joined this created some issues such as not receiving contact or having context for my work however they got in contact with me and stayed in contact till the issues was resolved.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
From the work I have completed I believe I have a better understanding of my work however I believe that there is more of a reverses effect where what I'm doing at work I am applying to my work witch so far I believe I am completing to a high standard.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
The NHS offers many activity's though the NHS discounts however due to covid 19 a grate many activity's have been limited however I have yet to fully explore what the NHS has to offer as soon the restrictions look to be lowering meaning hopefully more offers will come available to me through the NHS.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NHS to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because of how friendly the staff are, I have stated before that this is my first true job and with no understanding of what I would be expected to do or how to act the staff have guided me and helped me properly get settled in as well as making me feel welcome and respected.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS?
If the option is not offered I would highly recommend that you request to go in a few days before to meet the staff and understand where you will be working as the hospital is big and can be confusing at first so the more time you spend in the layout the easier it will be to navigate the site as well as being a grate opportunity to meet your staff.
