Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role involves working within a team to migrate existing business services to a cloud based solution. This involves daily meetings to discuss progress and work to be done, working within teams to achieve objectives and learning new and relevant technologies.
This role also involves a weekly day release in order to attend studies as part of my apprenticeship.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Overall, it has been a positive, enjoyable experience so far. I've met some great people within my cohort and the opportunity to be able to work with the latest technologies and get hands on experience makes the experience all that more enjoyable.
I had pretty high expectations as it was but I can safely say my expectations have been surpassed. The amount of benefits and opportunities available to me was something that exceeded my expectations. But the thing that surprised me the most was the company culture. With Accenture being such a large, global company I expected that there would be little interaction with people outside your team. But the amount of experience you get to interact with people throughout the organisation is incredible. There's a big focus on your wellbeing both physical and mental, which is a refreshing aspect.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Having entered the position with no previous experience within the field I have learned a varying range of new skills, both personal and professional, as well as developing on existing skills . The new skills learned so far revolve primarily around new found knowledge on technology.
Accenture has a big focus on learning and development, the amount of resources available to you is vast. This includes certification and training courses that are fully funded. Regular 'lunch and learn' sessions are available, these are optional sessions in which you can attend on your lunch that cover a range of different subjects, not just technology related subjects.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
There was some initial teething issues at first but these were quick to be resolved.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support is always there and there is plenty of people to ask, both inside and out of your team.
You get a people lead assigned to you who you work with to help achieve your career goals.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I get a fair amount of support from my training provider and I know of a bunch of people to get in touch with if I require any support or guidance.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Being an apprenticeship, the course and qualification is intended to help you perform in your role and any future roles. From what I've experienced so far I find this to be the case.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Although the current pandemic has had an impact on the type of extra-curricular activities at Accenture, the people have adapted to still offer such a broad range with regular communication about upcoming events and activities.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Accenture has been a great place to work so far, the amount of guidance, support, training and investment you have is like nothing I've experienced before. Would strongly recommend.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
Research into Accenture, read some of the projects that they have worked on, find out about the culture and beliefs and be able to demonstrate your interest in technology.
The interview process is very relaxed and you're made to feel at ease so don't worry about it.
