Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am in charge of the food cost and the cleanliness of the restaurant. I do reviews, set up new promotion and manager the general day to day running of the store. I have to manage a staff of over 100 and deal with customers. I do the inventory and set goals/targets for others
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
It's challenging and I love that about it. I won't lie it's hard and it's not always fun but I really enjoy the variety and the people, I feel I'll be ready to run my own business, I'll be well qualified and I'm exited about where my future could take me

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have to learn and develop every day, Ive working on communication, target setting more. I've been learning about metal health and how to manage a team effectively. I'm learning at work but also at uni I work on business as a whole and I have to relate it back to my work place

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The uni side is well structured and it's told to us well in advance. Work is more fluid so I have to wait for promotions to come available and wait for my managers to give me goals. I know I'll cover everything over the 5 years but it's not really structured
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My manager and employer are really good and supportive. They give me the time I need to complete work and they support me in all the courses I can attend to further my education. I've worked really hard and I get recognition and feedback this helps me to get better
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My lectures are only and email away, I have a liaison between McDonald's on the University that I can contact if I have any issues. They do their best giving us webinars online lessons and prerecorded lessons to make sure we are on take and getting the same as other students
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I got a generalized knowledge of business in the retail environment this is relatable back to my workplace this helps me to carry out business objectives set targets and manage people more effectively. My degree is in business management and what I write about in my assignments is my day-to-day job
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Work does crew nights out, days out, Christmas parties, and group of the girls from work do fund runs. there are online courses that have a social side to them as they are camera and audio friendly. There are plenty of opportunities to meet new people and network/gain experience

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend McDonald's to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Mcdonald's has a great management program and is well geared to training and supporting people with there development. Many people I've met from head office offer help. It's a community full of people and support networks. Mcdonald's has offered me an amazing opportunity and I'd recommend it
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
Be yourself, be open and honest. Mcdonald's is a great place to work and the people are amazing. When applying ask questions and let them see how amazing you are. I found being smiley and outgoing helps, as these are things that great managers need. Be open to feedback and ask for it
