Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Taking calls from members of the public that are broken down
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I like that it pushes me to learn something new each month. I have to put in the effort to complete the work on time so this means going out of my comfort zone at work to get the evidence required.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt that skills and techniques to coach a person and give them feedback required. I have also learnt that everyone has a different way of learning.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very organised. I like that I can speak to my tutor when required to get help if needed. Finding the activities and Essays each month are easy to navigate and find on the websites.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
My manager allows 1 day of in the month to do most of my work for the apprenticeship as time at home is filled with childcare.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I speak to my trainer for 2 hours once a month and involved in this meeting she advises of what the outcome of my work was the month before and what i need to do to pass the work for the following month
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
At the moment as i am not a manager i cannot put the learning i have done into action. So it is sometimes hard. My manager thought that the course was to work towards becoming a manager not already being a manager.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Not at present due to my job role

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend The AA to a friend?
Yes
Why?
There wasn't an option for yes but no.
I would because I feel that they adjust to help those who require to work certain shift such as childcare needs and allow people to do those hours they need. They also have a good wage for the hours that we do
I wouldn't recommend because the hours are long if doing shift work and its not a Monday to Friday job so it wouldn't be best for young adult such as. Also I feel sometimes, its not what you know, its who you know to get higher in the company. Not always but sometimes.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The AA?
Read the shift pattern and read the description of the job as it is long days and hard work.
