Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Brocken down into 2 blocks that rotates through out the 3 year program.
Block 1
6 weeks following a degree program for Adult nursing at Nottingham Trent University. Lectures , seminars, assignments and exams.
Block 2
6 weeks practice learning placement. Working and training with in a Nursing team at local hospital trusts. Assessed by a registered nurse for proficiencies and medication management.
Though out I have regular catch ups with my employer (1-2 times a month ) for reviewing progress
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Very much so. Nursing is a very practical profesion and I love working with new people and improving people's quality of life

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

YES! Nursing is a very highly skilled profession from communication, physical and assessments skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well as it follows the the degree course at the University
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
High amount. I have regular group catch ups and 1:1s are put in to place promptly if requested
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

High amount. Our school staff always put their nursing students first and make us feel very safe in this difficult time
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Paramount as with out my degree I would be unable to register as a qualified nurse.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

At the moment it is very limited due to covid . But I would when it opens up again

It's an amazing institution and a career for life with lots of internal opportunity
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NHS?
Take your time with the application . Think about all your transferable skills. I did not work in health care before but if you show passion for the job and high light your life skills it will pay off
