Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am the administrative assistant at The ChillHub, which is a separate entity to CEVA. On a daily basis i am involved in administrative tasks e.g. filing etc. however my main role is based around communicating with suppliers and raising purchase orders and dealing with invoicing. I am also involved in Invoicing for customers, payroll and HR. I have also been asked to be a part of the communications, environment and diversity teams.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy my programme, i complete the resources my tutor gives me with my own knowledge but when asked to link this to my organisation i have to do alot of research so i am learning all the time. Within my research i find i am communicating with people in different departments which aids my networking.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, i have learnt how to use at least 6 different systems that i had previously never seen before. I have also expanded my knowledge in the different areas i am involved in and learn on a daily basis. I also have learnt alot regarding logistics as i had no previous experience in this.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is very well structured and myself and my tutor ensure this, i believe it has to be two ways my tutor must be organised and up to date to be able to assist and i must complete all work on time. I have a good understanding of my next steps after every call i have with my tutor.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As my programme is on and off the job training i receive lots of support from my employer as the knowledge they are aiding me with is something i need to have to be able to complete my job. However when i have anything that is off the job that requires managers help my line manager is always happy to make herself available to ensure i am doing well with my course.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive lots of support from my training provider, each month we have a call to discuss my progress and to confirm next steps. I like that this is so clear and organised but throughout if i need to contact my tutor she is always available, there has never been a time that she hasnt answered my queries.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that my course helps me to perform alot better in my role as i have a clear understanding of business in general. I can then link this knowledge to my organisation to understand how things work for my business but also how what i am learning affects me directly.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, we have strava which is a fitness app to log walking, running or cycling where the whole business can get involved. As communications champion i am the first to know about any social events that are being carried out in the business but also those that we can be involved in at site. Recently due to covid restrictions we havent been able to hold these however we have been holding alot of charity fundraising days such as red nose day/ dress up days/ cake sale days.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend CEVA Logistics to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I feel that within my company i am valued, sometimes i forget i am an apprentice as i do not get treated any different to those that are on a higher level. I am also involved in so much and i am never bored, i am learning all the time and with my involvement in so many areas it expands my knowledge and network.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CEVA Logistics?
I would suggest to be prepared, if you dont want to work hard to achieve your goals this is not the job for you. Motivation is key to success and my company really enforces this idea. As the company is so large get in touch with other people to build your network.
