Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am dealing with ONElead for three days and then aiding the discounting team for two days. Within ONElead I am calling out to end customers and qualifying opportunities before passing on to account managers internally. Within discounting I am dealing with the inbox and inputting requests into a spread then putting them forward for approval, then sending out the approval or rejection to the partner after the daily SND call.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I do enjoy the programme I am on. Everybody from the apprenticeship guide, Pareto, has been very helpful and have always been there if i have needed to ask for help. as welll as this everybody within HPE, especially my team members have bene by my side when i have needed help and support. Its clealry been different due to working from home due to covid but i have managed well and the closeness of the team i am in has helped this too.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Internal training: Edge to cloud accreditation, Greenlake managed services training, HPE AI and data service overview, HPE Ezmeral container platform, HPE global trade and export customs, standards of business conduct training.
External training (apprenticeship): Sales fundamentals, call out training, objection handling, communication styles, data security, social media selling.
Personal skills developed: communication, teamwork, social networking, time/project management

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The scheme is well run by both HPE early careers and Pareto. communication is very good and we as learners are always kept in the loop with what is going on regarding the new training sessions we will be taking part in. mentor system was implemented very late into my first year but I have benefited from it as my mentor has taken a keen interest and is willing to help me learn and progress my career.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I have had two managers both of whom made it clear that they are there to support me and were always there if I needed to ask questions or needed general support.
To be honest, i think i could reach out to anyone from the skype directory within HPE and they would all be willing to help me with my questions.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My pareto skills coach, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions], has been really supportive since day one and he has been there the entire time whenever I have needed to ask a question or get support with my apprentice work. I do enjoy my apprenticeship and have now completed and been signed off for 3 out of 5 of the main tasks we were set a year ago.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The training from pareto has been great and has aided me in my role lots. the main thing is about the induction training they held for successful call outs and sales fundamentals which outlined the basics of what i would need to succeed in sales at HPE on the apprenticeship. the call out training has aided me to be confident on the phone when talking to customers daily along with the training HPE provided internally.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
HPE usually run lots of events but this year it has been quiet due to not being able to have social contact due to covid-19. However they have still run events online on zoom an dreams as well as individual teams having events too. they also run programmes where we do offer charity work etc but due to covid this has also been quiet.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Hewlett Packard Enterprise to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Everybody here is very supportive and they will do anything for a colleague. as well as this, I feel that there is a great chance of progression in this company as there are so many sectors that you can work in. They have been very honest from day dot with COVID too which has helped and they are very happy to help if there are problems anywhere along the line.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Hewlett Packard Enterprise?
be confident in the application process and the interviews as that always helps to come across well. be open and honest to your manager and team as they will help you through your time on the apprenticeship scheme etc. don't be afraid to ask questions as no question is silly at HPE as well as the amount of acronyms they use!!
