Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Normally I'm running the breakfast section where I'm in charge of the daily breakfast production, including grab and go, and table service. During the lunch time I'm in charge of the back line where I need to cook and send all the hot items we offer in the food hall
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I'm able to keep working while I'm studying and also, I'm practising all the content I receive in the NVQ. Another thing is that I couldn't afford a private College so this program is perfect for me. It's been a long road but right now I'm almost done, so I'm very excited

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt so many new skills, like organization, cooking techniques, staff management and more. I went to the Elior's chef school, I've been in different internal training courses, I got so many mentors in my place and now I got the opportunity to be enrol in the NVQ Level 2.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
well at the beginning was very stressful and confused because I've change so many times of trainer, but now, I think it's very organise, my trainer is so supporting of my process, helpful and the programme structure is complete. I've have cover all the topics with my mentor's help
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Since the beginning that I've asked for the opportunity to be enrol in a qualification, my chef is been supportive, and also my team work. They take the time when i need to teach me and train me in the areas I got less skills. My mentor is been my sous chef and the lockdown it's been the best period to became better
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Like i said before, at the beginning we struggle with the trainers rotation, but once I've been assigned to my actual trainer, the all process it's been so smooth, the guidance is 100%, I had some extra guidance in the English test and in general everybody it's been so patient and supportive
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
my qualification will help me to get the promotion I deserve. Makes me more confident, an strong chef and a very important part of my kitchen. This qualification opens the door for new opportunities and experiences, and pushed me to think more in my future and makes my own professional commitment stronger
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Mainly we got social activities such as summer party and Christmas party. There was as well some sports activities organise by Lloyds where everyone was invited to participate. I thinks there is not enough extra curricular activities my work has and should be very nice if we can have those options

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Elior to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think is a good company, with decent salary and reasonable shifts. You can have the chance to move to another unit if there is any available vacancy and also you can be enrole in different kind of trainings. Is a company with huge experience in catering and hospitality, so that back you up
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Elior?
Just to don't be afraid of the company size, you finally will be supported. Always be transparent in your answers, be yourself, because it's gonna worth it. It's a inclusive company so is your experience the one who talk about your background. Give yourself the chance to be part of this company
