Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
my roles is to cook and learn to cook as the "second chef" not by title but as im the only one besides my manager who is qualified or working for a qualification to cook at our site.
on a day to day basis i prepare meals for our residents, usually 30 or more. and to organise the team when it comes to service time, im also responsible for the cleaning of the kitchen as a member of the team, also i interact with customers and tend to any needs with in my remit
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
i enjoy learning new things and opening career options, id say that more could be done to support me by the company i work for, the company providing the training does a great job of supporting me where they can but i feel like my company could do more,
for example help managers make time for training staff, more staff to help training

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
i couldnt cook many things before i started so ive learnt a lot of cooking methods and how to be more organised, as well as keeping good time management and organisational skills.
also my leadership skills have grown as i have responsibility over the service team when the manager isnt there

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
its organised well with meetings from the provider every two weeks some face to face and some online, i feel like it is sometimes too free and more of a learning structure would be good to help those who need more personal attention and structure, also i dont tink the managers get enough information on how to help their apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
not enough though i know i could maybe ask more of my employer, however i feel their communication with me and my mentor regarding the course are lacking, ive not had any feedback or check up from anyone outside of my site and the company doesnt support my manger enough in this area in my opinion
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
i receive a good amount, weekly meetings, also i know k can email any queries and get a response in good time, they are very imformatve and knowledgible on the subjects and provide good training during lessons and meetings.
also they provide work at a good pace and will always work to the learnes needs
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
it helps give me more confidence as i have a qualification to lean on when performing my job role, it makes me feel more enthuesiastic about my job as i know that at the end of the course i will have accomplished something in getting a qualification
also it gives me a better understanding of the industry i work in
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
no not to my knowledge, we get emails from the company but these do not stand out to me as we never hear anything from our area manager, or my managers manager about these things
ive worked there for three years and not heard of any extra curricular activities or company events

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Elior to a friend?
No
Why?
the company itself doesnt have the best reputation online, and sometimes it feels like as a small site we are just left to fend for ourselves with not much support and comunication,
the site itself and work times and team are great but im not sure elior is a company that everyone would enjoy working for
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Elior?
push to get what you want, create a good atmosphere with your team, communicate with other sites as this may open other oppertunities, and carefully consider your options before going for a qualification in elior
there is a lot of online training and it is mandatory however it is job relevent
