Intern Review

Day to day tasks included running processes, analysing data, collating data, administrative tasks, ad-hoc tasks needing completed by team.
Project work included creating procedural documents and trialling processes.
Group project collaborating with other interns throughout the 10 weeks.
Networking - lots of meetings, 1-1 calls and overviews were a key part of the internship. Met with individuals from all levels of different business functions.

Throughout my internship I experienced my level of responsibility increase dramatically. It was a steady learning curve with lots of support at the beginning to enable me to understand the foundations and as my skills developed I was given my own work load to be accountable for. I found this was the best way to learn and I also enjoyed the freedom to work on my own set projects.

Skills sessions ran by the company were very beneficial for improving technical skills, such as excel, but also personal skills such as presentation skills and confidence.
My analytical and processing skills improved immensely as well as my overall understanding of the industry.

I felt very supported throughout the entire placement. My direct team were incredibly helpful, always willing to help and answer any questions, no matter how small or silly.
Additionally, the early careers team were also always available to help out as well as the intern cohort - we all leaned and learnt from each other a lot.
I also found that most colleagues, no matter of seniority level, were willing to arrange calls and answer questions.

The company culture was very friendly and everyone was incredibly willing to help each other out and support in anyway possible. This made joining the organisation a lot less daunting, especially when working from home. Additionally, I found the networks such as YPDN and Balance to be a collaborative and relaxed way to meet new people from across the whole organisation which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience! The hands-on approach to working with interns being given set workloads and project enabled us to learn faster and get a better appreciation of the type of work which a full time employee may complete. I have learnt vast amounts within such a short period of time and it is definitely a experience I will not forget.
