Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role consisted of a mix of daily project work - which included meetings, we would also have intern lunch and learns from colleagues of different branches of the business. I would reach out to different people for coffee chats to understand the business better, and see where my interests aligned.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given projects that had real impact on the teams that I was on, and I had the responsibility to lead it, initiate my own meetings, take on ownership.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
A lot of soft skills - learnt how to lead a meeting, and steer a project in the direction I wanted, working around people’s schedules by prioritising. On the technical skills, I developed a lot of skills using AI such as Power BI, Powerquery.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I had a buddy who was on my team who gave a lot of support and guidance throughout my internship. My direct manager was very supportive - he explained things very clearly, ensuring I was on the same page for projects, and where my internship was heading. My wider team made me feel very welcomed and helped me settle in.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone is very happy and excited to speak to you - whether it would be for coffee chats or just catch ups in the kitchen. I was able to build relationships across the business because everyone was so welcoming.
