Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I deal with the financial systems and processes of my team. This invoices the P2P process, approving orders, processing invoices, receipting goods, dealing with queries, running and analysing reports and reviewing expenses to name a few.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy every aspect of my programme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt how to use Oracle Financials on an in-depth level. Alongside learning all of the processes and even the simple things like what is needed on an invoice for it to be an official document. My communication skills and desire to use video calls, phone calls and to talk in person have improved vastly.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is structured well and broken down into a timeline of what should be achieved by when.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I can always ask for help, I never feel like I cannot discuss certain matters, I am open and honest with my employer and I receive all the support I require should I need it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
My training provider provides sufficient support but it is limited in some areas. The admin of the provider is woeful, meanwhile the support received with respect to the apprenticeship is good, but I get the impression that that team is overworked so can't provide the support they would like too as they have too many clientele.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It has helped me to understand my role and what my role would be like if technology was not a thing.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There have been social activities and networking events in person (but now online).

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend University of Oxford to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The University of Oxford has so much to offer and can give you the support and training you need to become your best. There is always opportunity to grow and learn within your own department or other departments should you want a change. I am looked after well and my goals in my career are taken seriously.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to University of Oxford?
Don't give up at the first hurdle or the first rejection (should that happen), it took me 3 attempts to secure an apprenticeship and I learnt new things from each interview so it was all an experience to get where I am and now I couldn't be happier.
